Using Rubicon
Getting started

What do I need to start using Rubicon?

The only thing needed to trade on Rubicon is an Ethereum wallet! Our app supports popular wallets like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and WalletConnect wallets like Rainbow and Tokenlon. If you have a Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet, you can connect it to MetaMask to use the Rubicon app. Once you have a wallet, you will need some ETH to cover network fees. If you already have ETH, great! You can bridge your ETH and other crypto assets to Optimism and start trading on Rubicon. Check out our guide for bridging tokens to Optimism. If you do not have any ETH, you can purchase some by clicking "Buy Crypto" in the Rubicon app. The Buy Crypto feature lets you purchase crypto through Ramp using a credit or debit card, a bank account, or even Apple Pay. Ramp will then deposit your purchased crypto straight into your wallet. You can also buy popular stablecoins like USDC, DAI, and USDT, but you will always need some ETH in your wallet to pay for transaction fees. If Ramp is not available in your jurisdiction, check out the Ethereum Foundation's guide to buying ETH from anywhere.
