Sending tokens to Optimism
Hop is the quickest way to bridge ETH and other tokens to Optimism from different networks
To start trading on Rubicon, your wallet needs ETH on the Optimism network.
I have no crypto in my wallet on any network
If you are new to DeFi and do not have any crypto in your wallet, use Buy Crypto in the Rubicon app to purchase ETH directly to your wallet using a credit or debit card.
I have ETH or other tokens in my wallet but not on Optimism
If you have already have ETH or other tokens in your wallet but they are on a different network, use Hop to send them to Optimism! Remember that Optimism network fees are paid in ETH, so you will always need some ETH in your wallet to pay for transactions.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to use Hop
- 1.Head over to the Hop app and choose a token to send and receive, as well as which networks you are sending tokens between. In this tutorial, we send USDC from Polygon to Optimism:

2. Select how the number of tokens you are sending from one network to another. To send our entire USDC balance on Polygon to Optimism, use the Max button:
Hop needs to calculate how many tokens you will receive
3. If the estimated received amount looks right, you can click Send
Click Send to confirm the balance you are sending!
You will need to confirm this transaction in your wallet. Once you confirm the transaction, it takes about 5 minutes for you to receive the funds on the destination network. Importantly, the incoming transfer will not show up in your MetaMask wallet transaction history, so sit tight while the funds are on the way.
